Friendliest service I've ever had. Host, an elderly lady welcomed us and took my wife by the hand to our table. Food was delicious and the serving is pretty huge. Highly recommended if you want a family experience from a restaurant that's been family owned for 30 years or so. Enjoy

5 Stars***** Food 5 Stars***** Service 5 Stars***** Cleanliness 5 Stars***** Friendliness/welcoming 5 Star***** Price/Food Ratio 5 Stars***** If Daenerys Targaryen opened a restaurant in King's Landing, it would be the Golden Dragon. This Michelin-starred haven of Chinese culinary excellence is the stuff of legends. Even the Chinese emperor himself would approve! Upon entering, you're greeted with the scent of their signature hot green tea, which is so soothing it could calm a dragon. I started my feast with the Rice Crackling Soup with Shrimp, a dish that's a symphony of sizzling and savory goodness. The shrimp were so fresh they might have just swum in from the Narrow Sea. Next came the Almond Chicken and Broccoli Beef, each bite a heroic journey of succulent flavors. The Almond Chicken was crispy and tender, a perfect balance of crunch and melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The Broccoli Beef was seasoned to perfection, making me feel like I was dining in the Great Hall of the Red Keep. But the real showstopper was the Orange Walnut Chicken. This dish is a fire-breathing dragon of flavor, with sweet, tangy, and nutty notes dancing on my tastebuds. The Green Beans with Beef were cooked to a crisp, vibrant green, a perfect sidekick to the main courses. And then, the Crispy Shrimp in Oil--oh my! Each bite was an orgasmic explosion of flavor that made me question my previous life choices. The food at the Golden Dragon is an experience unto itself, a feast fit for a king (or queen) and their loyal subjects. If you're ready for a culinary adventure that will leave you rethinking every meal you've ever had, this is the place to be. Fresh, flavorful, and utterly unforgettable, dining here is a quest worth undertaking.

We celebrate at least one family birthday at Golden Dragon every year. And we sprinkle in a meal or take out on the regular. Our family has been eating here for over 30 years. If you want to have wonderful Chinese food and be treated like family when you walk in the door from the same family that founded the restaurant decades ago, this is the place. Family owned restaurants are harder to find these days. Support this one. Can't miss menu items: Egg Rolls, Sizzling Rice Soup, Orange Chicken, Moo Shu (pork or beef), Kung Poa, Mongolian Beef, but you should explore the menu. I've never disliked anything I ordered.

I don't even know where to start. The mama of this place is so kind! So sweet! So effectionate, and she makes sure you get great service. I saw her greet ALL her costumers. The dining room is huge! And there is a bar off to the side with ample bar top seating n more tables. All the staff are in black n white with aprons. The food, drinks, and clean moves fast! Meaning your drinks and food come out fast. And the staff won't allow a dirty dish. It's nice! Not having to shove dishes to the end of the table to drop a hint that you want it removed. Now as for the food. Double dang! So good! So good! So good! (Sweet Caroline line song). We ordered the orange peel shrimp, and king Pao Beef, along with the fried pot stickers. The pot stickers were large in size and it came with 8. The Orange Peel Chicken I would say serves 3-4 people. Kung Pao Beef same serving size as the shrimp. Would feed 3-4 and it doesn't have the spicy kick one would be expecting. But all very good! Go and enjoy and prepare to come home with leftovers!

If your sick of panda express and want authentic Chinese food from a family owned restaurant, here you go. Ive been going to this place for years and every time it's the food highlight of my day. The hour and sour soup is what I usually get, it's think and savory filled to the brim with top tiergredients. The wonton soup is also amazing, the flavors are rich and the wontons are cooked to perfection. The orange peel chicken is usually a table order, a must have. I used to not be a fan of crab rangoons, but this has converted me. The filling is creamy without an cream cheese flavor, the skin is crispy and golden brown. All of their food is served to the table piping hot, this restaurant is cozy and warm. Please pay a visit to the Golden Dragon in Costa Mesa.

The yummiest Chinese food! I stopped by on a whim last night. The outside looked super sketch and dingy but it was really nice and authentic inside. The staff might have been all family - so so so nice. There was an older lady that walked around and talked to every single table which I love. The food was amazing! So fresh, massive portions, and tasty. They had dinner combos which was nice because it comes with a little bit of everything. Will deff be back!

My family and I were in the area and hungry. We felt like Chinese food and looked that up on Google. This was the first place that came up and it had high reviews and we liked that they had been around for a long time. The service was very nice and homey. Very kind people. There were lots of choices on the menu. We had the appetizer sampler, house fried rice, chicken chow mein, and orange peel chicken. The portions here are decent and enough to feed multiple people. Everything was good. What I particularly loved is that they make true eggrolls here. They are made like the way they are made in New York. Large with lots of shredded cabbage and a little meat. It's an old skool Chinese restaurant but really charming with great food. If in Costa Mesa again, I'd return.
